In the CuBO.X

This research explored the fruitful meeting points between art, expressive therapies and the recovery of the victims of the armed conflict in Colombia.

The experimental process takes into account his performance work, his teaching work with the course "Meditation and Artistic Creativity", and the project Taking Care of Yourself for Victims of Conflict where he developed the Art and Healing module.

This process was approached from a reflection on the expression of pain and the possibility of sharing it. In this way, he takes the tears shed as a starting point for a sculptural exploration and experimentation. Tears as a metaphor that condenses the post-conflict pain and its healing power.

(...) The conviction that art can help dilute pain is the concept that guides this project. At an organic level, tears not only contain salts and minerals, but also certain substances produced by the hypothalamus: prolactin, adrenocorticotropic hormone and leucine enkephalin. And at the bioenergetic level, they play an important role in promoting emotional self-regulatory capacity. That is why we feel better after crying. It is sought that this liberation transcends the plane of the personal and acquires a community dimension by turning it into consciousness and collective liberation from pain. In this way, art can contribute to the reconstruction of our society during the post-conflict period ”.
