Cultural mediator and educator. Graduated in Humanities with a mention in Contemporary Culture (Autonomous University of Barcelona, 2013) and master's degree in Art and Education (University of Barcelona, 2015). At the same time, he has been trained in cultural criticism, urban geography, visual anthropology and collaborative and co-creation practices, an area in which he has specialized by participating in different courses and workshops.

.

He collaborates with the architecture studio SP25Arquitectura (Vic, BCN) developing methodologies for citizen participation in architecture and urban planning. At the same time, for three years he has been developing his personal project under the theme Subversive Exercises, a proposal for cultural mediation that explores how citizens inhabit and perceive the city. From activism, he is part of the collective "Col·lectiu A +" made up of professionals from different professional fields with an interest in the cultural revitalization of the Adoberies neighborhood of the city of Vic (BCN). In the collective Helena intervenes in spaces through the recovery of popular memory, the programming of conferences and debates, collaborating with artists, schools and neighbors, mainly. Likewise, together with Jaume Guinart, he intermittently forms "La Furtiva", an expanded publishing project on art and anthropology.

Proposal

The interest of your residence has two lines of work rooted in each other. On the one hand, it is to give continuity to the exploration of the city as a social and cultural phenomenon from a transdisciplinary perspective and, on the other, to investigate and propose spaces for social and cultural mediation that favor the meeting, dialogue and the creation and translation of collective knowledge.

.

Regarding the first question, Helena has focused on the study of intra-urban displacements as a result of public works and private investment that aim to place the city of Medellín in a scenario of global competition. His research questions are: What social legitimization strategies does power use in its operations that have consequences on the lives of the inhabitants ?; What types of intra-urban displacements occur as a consequence of these operations ?; How is the notion of the right to the city configured and reconfigured in Medellín through these displacements and their forms of resistance ?; Can cyclical processes be established in a local history of displacement ?; What imaginaries and what individual and collective memories do the displaced carry with them?

.

Regarding the second question, Helena has accompanied the project "The neighborhood as the face of the city", a project of the National University of Colombia and residents in the CuBO.X of Casa Tres Patios. Based on this, Helena proposes to establish a collaboration using art as an intervention tool in the Doce de Octubre neighborhood of Medellín, a place where this group has developed its practical part.

.

In a timely manner and given his interest in sharing pedagogical and artistic tools with the Visual Arts Network of Medellín, he will accompany some of the creatives in their projects in the work nodes and, afterwards, a session will take place with all the creatives of the Network with the aim of exchanging experiences, tools, doubts and problems around art, education and the creation of critical citizenship. All this collected in fanzine format to share with other creatives and cultural agents interested in these issues.
