Dá-se assim from menina / It has been like this since she was a child
Natali Tubenchlak was born in Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He has training in Industrial Design at the University of Cidade, Ceramics at the Technical School of Arts and Crafts, Engraving at the Oficina do Museu do Ingá and Painting at the Escola de Artes Visuais do Parque Laje, among others.
The artist has participated in residencies such as "Residência Artística Mutuca 6. Serra do Espinhaço" Brazil, in 2017, "the experience / pedagogy" in Córdoba, Argentina, in 2014. and Barda del Desierto # 3. Rear Admiral Cordero, Río Negro Province, Patagonia, Argentina in 2017.
Her work has focused on generating dialogues between violence and sexuality, concepts associated with her country of origin and the idea of women, as well as around the dominance games that occur in everyday situations of power and domination from the feminism. He uses various techniques, always looking for a multiplicity of materials that allow him to delineate objects, characters and stories, thus achieving hybrids of techniques and media.
Proposal
In her creative processes, the artist uses collage, drawing and engraving as a multiplying strategy for the reflections she addresses, thus allowing a greater diffusion and a broader scope based on the reproduction and circulation of images.
During her residency at Casa Tres Patios, Natali will carry out a series of workshops with different audiences to explore their ideas and points of view around the forms of power and domination, giving rise to dialogues and blank images that will take shape according to their contexts, knowledge and perspectives. It is a construction based on interaction with others, making use of one's own and collective interests and experiences.
Based on the practical workshops, Natali wishes to explore the political power of the medium with which she works, such as immediacy and reproducibility, and analyze how, through the image, it is possible to overcome barriers such as language and unequal relationships.
